Gaming wins for Nevada casinos continued to increase during the month of July, rising to just over a billion dollars in casino winnings statewide. That’s a nearly 3% gain over July of last year. The only major city that saw casino wins fall was in Sparks – Sparks casino wins falling 2.45% despite the town’s big opening of a new outdoor amphitheater downtown between the Nugget’s twin towers. Sparks city officials say, “Give it time.”
Here in Carson City and down in Douglas County gaming wins in July rose by nearly 4% over last year at this time. At Stateline gaming revenues in July rose a very healthy 17%.
In the Reno market they say the gaming win increase in July was about 1.5%. North Lake Tahoe hauled in a 3.75% increase while wins in other Washoe County areas gaming was rather flat.
With a lot of talk lately of a nationwide weakening of the economy, that talk has fallen on deaf ears around the state of Nevada.
