Carson City Sheriff’s Deputies say they were called this week learning that a man, suspected of burglarizing a parked car and finding a wallet full of credit cards in it was arrested after the thief had made a number of high dollar purchases with them.
Reports say that suspected fraudster and thief John Collins, 50, of Carson City, spotted the car and quickly got inside and found a number of valid credit cards that allowed him to go on a shopping spree at a Walmart running up a nearly one thousand dollar heist, and at another store where Collins allegedly purchased nearly $3,000 worth of merchandise using the stolen credit cards.
Collins, by now, reportedly in the company of his girlfriend, continued their shopping rip off scheme but sheriff’s deputies cut the stealing spree short when they spotted them.

For the burglaries, fraudulent use of a credit cards and possession of drug paraphrenalia Collins was booked into the Carson City Jail where he is being held on the above charges. The status of his possible girlfriend has not been released.
