Carson City Firefighters are battling very difficult and extreme fire conditions on the Kincade Fire just off Highway 101 north of Healdsburg, CA. They have been working nearly non-stop since Saturday morning. Carson City Fire crews continue to defend homes at the front of the fire. Initial reports indicate that a PG&E power tower jumper cable broke, spreading sparks on the ground near Geyserville.
As of Monday 76,0000 acres have burned in Sonoma County, north of San Francisco near Healdsburg along Highway 101. Nearly 100 homes have been destroyed with 80,000 acres still threatened. Winds have been fierce according to fire officials. However the forecast shows winds dying down to 5 to 20 mph by mid-week.
