A Carson City Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a wanted man out of California on various charges – mostly drugs. A deputy pulled in behind Tyler Lewallen near Airrowhead and Goni. The deputy activated his overhead lights and the chase was on. The deputy kept Lewallen in his sights but not too close because Lewallen was speeding, running stop signs and eventually headed north on Highway 395 toward Reno.
The deputy kept Lewallen in sight and watched as Lewallen got his car stuck in a ditch. The deputy watched Lewallen climb over a fence. Other deputies pulled up on scene and soon had Lewallen at gunpoint. Deputies found Lewallen in possession of methamphetamine – Lewallen telling deputies he hadn’t slept in days.
Deputies cuffed Lewallen and soon had him in the back seat of a patrol car enroute back to Carson City. He was booked for being a Fugitive from Justice from California, Eluding Capture, Reckless Driving, Possession of Drugs, DUI-drugs and Driving on a Suspended License.
