The National Weather Service is forecasting a very wintery couple of days, Sunday in to Monday. In Carson City, it’ll start later this afternoon as rain, then turn to snow later on. Accumulations in Carson City might reach four inches. But up at Tahoe, it’ll be snow from the get-go – 6 to 18 inches of snow at lake level with accumulations of 3 feet or more above lake level.
If you’re headed up the hill to the lake, or crossing over into California on Highway 50 or Interstate 80, good traction tires might not be enough so have your chains at-the-ready.
