Congressional Candidate Patricia Ackerman finishes 3rd Quarter leading contributions and cash on hand
Patricia Ackerman finished the first quarter of 2020 with the most money raised, as well as the most cash on hand, of any Democratic candidate in the race for Nevada Congressional District 2.
End-of-quarter filings were due to the FEC by midnight last night. Ackerman brought in $37,988.17 in individual contributions, more than double the amount raised by the next highest candidate. She also had the most reported cash on hand of any Democratic candidate, $23,397.08, more than five times that of the next closest candidate. Her cash on hand was more than the next closest candidate’s total individual contributions.
Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District has traditionally been tough for Democratic candidates to raise funds. However, with this showing, Patricia Ackerman believes they are putting themselves in a strong position to win the primary, and go on to flip the District to Democratric hands. “We are thrilled with where we ended the quarter. It took a lot of hard work from everyone on this team, and it took folks believing in this race. I know we are in an unprecedented moment in history, and that times are tough, so the fact that people opened up their pocket books to give to this race in these numbers is astounding. I am eternally grateful for the support. And, when I am elected, I will work tirelessly every day to fight for the residents of Nevada Congressional District 2.”
Campaign Manager Michael Cullen stated: “The end of quarter filings demonstrate what we already knew internally: that Patricia is the best candidate on the Democratic side to go up against Mark Amodei. Patricia has the widest, deepest, and most diverse support. She’s put together this support in less time than candidates in the field who have been running longer. She is putting in the time, day in, and day out, to set this campaign up for success. That being said, the work continues, and we are going to continue to push as hard as we can so that the voters of CD 2 can get to know Patricia and make an informed choice when they submit their ballots.”
