Work continues on the old Bank Saloon building at 5th and Carson, first erected in 1899 and often renovated through modern times. The current installment of yet another resurrection of the venerable old structure is well underway – workers restoring, if not completely re-arranging how space will be divided up. An application for a renovation permit for the contractor includes a multi-use future for the building to include a bar (imagine that), outside patio seating and a conference room.
The new owners applied for, and were awarded a $25,000 grant from Carson City Redevelopment as yet another downtown improvement to elevate the appearance and feel of that part of the downtown. It’s hoped that others will begin renovating other downtown buildings. A grand opening for The Bank Saloon is scheduled for early October.
