1:45pm All the sirens were fire trucks headed east into Lyon County. Report of a wildfire off Six Mile Canyon Road.
2:30pm Fire growing very fast – estimated at 120 acres and very windy. Various aircraft are dive bombing the fire rather hard. Fire mostly out by 5pm. Overnight firewatch likely.
Cause of the fire is rumored to be a stray bullet or bullets from the shooting range southwest of the main fire. The fire appears to have started very close to the shooting range and strong winds blew it north-northeast. No homes damaged thanks to quick scrambling by firefighters.
