In the past, the Carson City Board of Supervisors made it clear that no one in Carson City can be barred from running for Board of Supervisors, just because they don’t own property. For years the property ownership element was thought to be part of the qualifications to run for Supervisor according to city municipal code. But that’s no longer true…nor should it have been true. It was discovered that it’s the City Charter of Carson City that makes that decision. And that decision is that there is no property ownership requirement to qualify to run for Supervisor. Apparently, case closed.
Maskology – who knew?
There was also a brief discussion on what kind of mask people should be wearing when out in public. Up to now, you could wear a mask, or one of those clear-plastic face shields, that looks like a welder’s mask.
BUT NO MORE…
The Centers for Disease Control has determined that those welder’s masks are next to worthless as far as protection against the Covid-19 virus. The CDC strongly recommends using the standard street mask you can buy in any store that carries them. Of course, any N-95 mask for sale to the public is probably your best bet – if you can get your hands on them. They’re usually reserved for hospital employees.
