Two vehicles approaching Saliman at Fairview collided Saturday evening causing considerable damage to both vehicles. The vehicle in the picture was approaching the intersection – the driver looking up to see a yellow left turn light flashing. The driver wrongly deduced that it was safe to turn left forgetting that YELLOW ISN’T GREEN. Yellow is to proceed with caution which would imply she had to stop before turning left because there was an oncoming vehicle which she probably didn’t notice.
The impact was pretty severe. The pickup spun around and came to a stop east of the intersection. The car ended up facing south on Saliman.
So again, a flashing yellow arrow means you can turn IF it’s clear. And only if it’s clear. Driver of the pickup wasn’t injured. But his pickup suffered a lot of left side damage. Neither party was seriously injured.
