The Carson City School District wants to remind all parents that school children need to be meticulously evaluated by their parents before they head off to school – even before they step onto a big yellow bus or if they walk to school. School district officials say children must be screened by their parents even before they leave home. If parents see anything out of the ordinary like a cough, a slight fever or shortness of breath, they should go to their doctor, not to school. All it takes in one Covid-19 kid to infect a whole school.
If the child shows any of the above symptoms, they should be immediately taken to the Carson City Health Department for testing. The Covid-19 virus is extremely dangerous and only recently has targeted young children along with others who have been ordered to stay at home for 14 days to determine if the virus has been successfully fought off by their body’s immune system.

Remember, all parents must take a close look at their children to determine whether they have a cough, slight fever or any shortness of breath. If they do, DON’T SEND THEM TO SCHOOL WHERE THEY COULD INFECT OTHERS. Call CCHHS for instructions at 775-283-4789.
These situations are playing out all over the country and in many school districts children are attending school via computer from home. The virus affects young children as well as the elderly. We’re far from being out of the woods yet and won’t be until there is a vaccine available – probably right after the first of the year. Treatment therapies are being researched as well.
