Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space is offering its 4th annual Carson City BOOnanza – but with a little different approach.
To comply with the social distancing and facemask guidelines, the annual trick-or-treating event this year will be a drive-through. Cars full of trick-or-treaters will be directed through a one-way loop around the upper ballfields at the John D. Winters Centennial Sports Complex. The event will be held Thursday, October 29th from 4 to 7pm. The site is just north of the Eagle Valley Golf Course.
Many local businesses and organizations will decorate booths spaced 30 feet apart to pass out candy and other goodies. Families are encouraged to decorate their vehicles in a safe manner to add to the festivities.
We would like to thank our sponsors Southwest Gas and Carson City Toyota for their continued support of the Halloween event. With so many events being canceled this year due to the Corona Virus, we really wanted to find a fun and safe way to keep this event going this year. State regulations regarding COVID-19 will be followed.
Additional vendors are still invited to participate! If your local business or organization would like to add their support for this safe alternative trick-or-treating fun-time, and are willing to pass out candy to cars as they drive by, please contact Dan Earp at email@example.com or (775) 283-7422.
