The Carson City Board of Supervisors today approved spending nearly a half-million dollars on rebuilding the parking lot at 3rd and Curry so that when people want to visit McFadden Square or the Farmers Market they’ll have something approaching adequate parking. No immediate date was set for the beginning of construction. A big shade structure is also envisioned for the Farmers Market.
The Supervisors also approved changing the name of the Community Center’s Sierra Room to the Bob Crowell Board Room, in honor of the recently passed “Mayor Bob.” The Supervisors also extended Bob Crowell’s name to the MAC Athletic Center naming it the Bob Crowell Multi-Purpose Athletic Center.
And finally the Board selected long-time Carson City businessman Stan Jones to fill the unfinished term of Lori Bagwell’s supervisors position. Bagwell will become Mayor in January. Stan Jones will fill out the remainder of Bagwell’s term – approximately two years.
