Sheriff’s Deputies had their hands full downtown early Saturday morning
Three Carson City Sheriff’s Deputies were really “up against it” shortly after 2am Saturday morning. One deputy came up on a fight on the sidewalk on No. Plaza. The deputy tried to separate the two combatants and partially succeeded but took some punches from the one of the combatants.
Another deputy arrived on scene and went to work pulling people apart and then a third deputy came on scene and helped the other two officers gain control of the situation. One of the deputies was injured after taking hard blows to his head.
Arrested were two men, Jose Alvarez-Garcia charged with Battery on a Protected Person, Battery on and Obstructing a Deputy Sheriff and Resisting Arrest. Another suspect, Cristian Hernandez-Galvan was also booked into the city jail on charges of Battery and Obstructing a Deputy Sheriff.
