Speed kills…but when it doesn’t, you still get a ticket

Speeders on Law Enforcement’s Radar through December 7th
Excessive Speed – A Common and Deadly Factor in Crashes

Speeding is a leading contributor to traffic crashes. Speeding during winter weather driving conditions just makes your chances of a crash greater.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is joining forces with other Nevada Law Enforcement agencies to increase traffic enforcement from November 25th 2020 through December 7th 2020, for motorists exceeding the speed limit.

We will see changing weather conditions during the start of this holiday season, remember to watch your speed and pay attention to school zones. School zone speed limits in Carson City are 15 mph when the zone is active.

Many motorists do not pay attention to speed; they simply do what “everyone else is doing”. Your speed is your responsibility. Be responsible, pay attention and watch your speed in and around town and school zones.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office remains dedicated to bringing the number of fatalities on our roadways to zero through increasing public awareness about the dangers of speeding. More information about safe driving and the state’s Zero Fatalities goal is available online at www.ZeroFatalitiesNV.com.
