First shipments of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine arrive in Carson City
Governor Sisolak announced Monday that the first shipment of the approved Moderna COVID-19 vaccine has arrived in Northern Nevada, Sisolak noted in a tweet “While we wait for a widespread vaccine distribution, please continue to wear your mask, wash your hands, practice social distancing and stay home when you can.
The vaccine “is thawing and will then be administered to our front line medical personnel only. After the viles of vaccines thaw, they are expected to be administered sometime on Tuesday,” according to officials.
On Friday the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued the go-ahead for the second vaccine Moderna, for the prevention of COVID-19. The emergency use authorization allows the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to be distributed in the U.S for use in individuals 18 years of age and older.
