Promised help to speed up vaccinations arrives in Carson City
Federal help has arrived to help Carson City Health and Human Services with its vaccination program in the Quad County region. Ten workers from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and another 10 employees of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) are in Carson City for two weeks – maybe a month or more to help with vaccinations, record-keeping and “shootin’ arms.”
More Substantive Assistance in helping the Quad County area fight Covid-19 is ramping up with additional supplies from Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson and Johnson and others. Pfizer and Moderna’s vaccine potency is 95% against the virus with Johnson and Johnson finally becoming a major player in fighting the virus weighing in at 85% effective. And what’s good is that it’s a one-shot vaccination and doesn’t require extensive refrigeration. Other vaccines are expected to add to the battle against the virus.
