The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance with any information leading to the identification of a person responsible for the attempted sexual assault of a minor.
On Monday, February 15, 2021 at about 5:40 am an 11-Year-old girl awoke to a man kneeling next to her bed, touching her. Once the child woke up, the suspect fled from the apartment.
He was a:
White Male Adult
Late 20’s to late 30’s
5’8” to 5’10”
Brown hair (long enough that it stuck out from under the rim of the baseball hat he was wearing)
Stubble facial hair
Suspect Clothing Description:
Black Baseball style hat (unknown logo or writing)
Navy blue sweatshirt
Possibly had a backpack
Black surgical style face mask that looped behind the ears
Person of Interest:
During the initial investigation, video footage of a man matching the suspect’s description was recorded as he left the area of the assault. The person of interest was on a mountain bike and was last seen traveling southbound on Carson Street, passing the Carson City Inn at about 5:53 am.
The following picture is snapshot taken from an infrared surveillance camera in the area of the assault. It is for reference only due to the poor quality. The infrared camera does not show color and darker objects appear lighter on the infrared camera. The snapshot shows a male matching the suspect description riding toward the building where the assault occurred.
If you have access to or own any video surveillance cameras in the area of 400 W. Winnie, or Winnie Lane and North Carson Street heading South, please review your video footage for Monday, February 15th between the hours of 5:00 am and 6:00 am for anyone matching the suspect description.
