The Nevada Department of Transportation has ordered the resurfacing of approximately two miles of U.S. 50 between Asphalt Drive and Nichols Lane in eastern Carson City. The project scheduled for July, to resurface the aging highway surface, will run about $300,000.
Drivers should expect lane and brief intersection closures as the road is brought back up to normal. Speed limits are expected to be lowered off and on throughout the project. While one lane in each direction will always remain available, drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during construction. The highway was last fully repaved in 2004.
