The Covid-19 Virus never sleeps among our four counties. The latest figures show that the four counties racked up 162 new cases which is a 63% increase from the last tabulation. Recoveries also increased as well, from 57 recoveries last week to 74 recoveries this week.
Lyon County is leading the four county pack with 140 – a 52 percent increase. Carson City and Douglas County are tied for second with a 30 percent increase each; Carson City had 76 active cases last week, and 99 cases this week, which Douglas County had 57 active cases last week, and 74 active cases this week.
Storey County, which has remained relatively low throughout the pandemic, only had one active case last week, and continues to only have one active case this week as well.
As they say on TV…we could wrap up this Covid-19 disaster if everyone got their vaccinations. And they’re all over the quad county area.
In the meantime, all 27,000 (or so) Nevada state employees will soon be given a choice of getting vaccinated as required as opposed to those who, for whatever reason, don’t want to be vaccinated. So they’ll have to be tested weekly. Whoever comes up infected will have to talk with their boss. This virus is nothing to fool around with. If you remember your polio shot you can endure a quick Covid-19 vaccination.
