Carson City Supervisors Thursday started to take a 10,000 foot view of the town’s streets, parks, business sectors and neighborhoods while also acknowledging where more tax money is going to come from to pay for it all.
A few supervisors questioned the city’s massive south Carson Street upgrade which is probably good for certain businesses but takes money away from other improvements in other business and neighborhood areas along with new arterials.
City supervisors struggled to create a context of what improvements should be made across our Capital City and speculated various new ideas. But the discussion became a little constrained when cost estimates started being mentioned. The supervisors said they’d have to see how far the federal money now being circulated east-west, north and south will endure and what the bottom line for Carson City will be heading into next year and upcoming years looking over the horizon.
