Department of Education State Superintendent Jhone Ebert and several of her staff members continued a statewide listening tour today in Carson City. Meetings began at the Carson City School District offices and then continued to Carson High School, Eagle Valley Middle School, Seeliger Elementary School and Fremont Elementary School.
Her plan throughout the listening tour is to connect with school administrators, teachers and students throughout the day. Towards the conclusion of the day, a community/parents meeting with parent organizations (such as PTA, PTO, GATE, etc.) will also be held in the District Office Boardroom, 1402 West King Street.
Ebert has plans to visit all 17 school districts and the State Public Charter School Authority before the end of the calendar year. She is especially interested in listening to school administrators, teachers, families and community members and hear directly from them what they find is exceptional at each school.
From Clint Koble, candidate for U.S. Congress:
On the heels of a much needed town hall on gun safety and legislation in Reno, Clint Koble, Democratic congressional candidate for Northern Nevada’s CD-2, will be holding his second town hall on the topic tonight in Carson City.
Koble will engage Northern Nevadans in a much needed discussion about congressional action to strengthen America’s gun laws.
I support Speaker Pelosi and the U.S. House of Representative’s decision to begin impeachment proceedings against President Trump. His actions regarding the whistleblower incident, and the exchange he had with Ukrainian president Zelesnky regarding the Bidens, is alarming and unconstitutional. These latest actions by President Trump cross the line into impeachment territory.
One of the founding principles of our country is that no one is above the law. The House needs to follow through with the impeachment inquiry, and uncover the facts. Our democracy has been held hostage by this President long enough – he ignores our laws and our principles, and even basic human decency. We need to restore a system of checks and balances to prevent abuse of power by the Executive Branch. Our American democracy is defined by those willing to defend and fight for it. There’s never a wrong time to do the right thing.
